This space is all about seeking
the moments that cause
'excited chills' and creating a life
that's simple, authentic and beautiful.
The last letter of the alphabet is brings us to Zara. If you’ve had the pleasure of experiencing a Zara store, then you know how much style this amazing retailer brings to the world of affordable fashion. The first Zara was opened by Amancio Ortega and his wife in La Coruna, Spain in 1975. This week (40 years later), Business Insider featured an article about this retail giant…

This clothing company, whose CEO was briefly richer than Bill Gates,
is blowing the competition out of the water
Today, Zara has 6500 stores in 88 countries. The incredible thing about
Zara is that they've found a way to combine the latest fashions with
high quality and affordable prices. It's a trio that works! They've been increasingly successful for the past four decades. No wonder Amancio Ortega is the second richest man in the world.
Unfamiliar with Zara?
Here’s what I know-
It's a fascinating mix of some of your favorite stores. Think…a bit of H&M,
a touch of Target’s best fashion options with some Forever 21 thrown in…
all merchandised to look more like Nordstrom or a high-end clothing shop.
The quality is incredible! Most pieces look and feel like they should cost considerably more than their actual price.
It’s not uncommon to admire a sweater in Zara…
be swept away by the quality and details…
try it on and promptly fall in love…
and then realize that it’s only $39.90 Full-price!
My list of what you should check out at Zara is long…in fact, it might include every category in the store:-)
The sweaters are amazing
Zara’s coats are stylish and current
The accessories are on trend…handbags, belts, scarves, jewelry!
Luxurious trousers and skirts
They offer lovely work attire with an edge
Zara’s evening wear is beautiful
TRF is the trendier, less classic Zara line
There is also Zara Maternity for expectant moms who want to look
Denim- I wasn’t expecting to be impressed with their denim, as the price points are ridiculously low. However, my daughter tried on a few pairs of jeans and I must say…they were super flattering and very stylish.
Shoes- I don’t have any experience with Zara’s shoes. They look great,
but I haven’t ever tried a pair on myself. Please comment below if you
have any info on Zara shoes.
There are about sixty Zara stores in the United States. If you are lucky enough to live in a city that has a Zara…I urge you to go check it out!
Traveling to Europe? Leave room in your luggage and find the nearest Zara, as most European cities have at least one.
If you can’t make it to one of Zara's locations, shop from their online site.
It’s not quite as fab as visiting a store, but it’s much better than nothing.
Still two more days of Simple Style…and then some cool stuff to follow.
