Yes, I know, I missed Day 21 yesterday. I am now a day behind. Apologies. Please forgive?
October is by far the longest and busiest month on my family's calendar. Taking on a writing challenge this month has proven to be just that... a challenge.

My first trip to Spain was several years ago. I wish I had agreed to go sooner. My husband tried on several occasions to get me to open my mind to Spain. I was a foolish, myopic Francophile.
My reply was always the same... "Can we fly through Paris and spend a day or two?"
It wasn't that I didn't think I would like Spain or that I had anything against it.
My heart belonged to Paris...and the rest of France.
I finally said, "Yes". Matthew had to be in Madrid and Alicante for work right after Thanksgiving. We had a willing grandma to stay with our kids. I was ready to see Spain.
Wow! What was I waiting for? What a wonderful spot.
Both Madrid and Alicante (more on Alicante another day) were incredible. I loved being in Spain.
Our first morning, too early to check into our hotel, we walked and stopped for churros and chocolate. We sat outside on that chilly November morning (munching and sipping) and watched as a team of workers assembled a Christmas Village in front of us. I was hooked.
On our first trip to Madrid, we stayed Room Mate Alicia. This is a cool hotel in a great location.
Modern and comfortable.
Our second trip, (told you I was hooked) we stayed at Hotel Urban.
Luxurious. Quiet. Delicious breakfast.
I think I just started Spain Week.
I wasn't planning on it, but there are so many incredible things about Spain! I can't wait to get started...maybe October isn't long enough after all.
Thanks for reading. More tomorrow...
